Version 3.1.2

Two things:

* Fixed a bug in Secret Mission risk---the "occupy 18 territories with 2 armies each" mission was functionally a copy of "occupy 24", and even said 24. Now it should work.

* At the request of Jimmi, added a (beta) version of mixing Secret Mission rules with 2210 rules. To access it, choose "New Game With Custom Rules > Invade Earth 2210" then when the rules dialog pops up, change the base rule set to "Secret Mission A.D. 2210". Note that there may be some quirky (but hopefully deterministic) results of mixing the rules... for one thing, "any" continent can probably include a moon or water "continent", and moon and water territories count towards the "occupy" missions. "Occupy with two armies" means MOD's only, commanders don't count. You should be able to redefine the missions to adjust the balance if you like. Also, in the unfortunate event that you get "occupy Australia +etc." and all four Australia territories are devastated ... you're screwed. :)

By the way, Europe had one devestated country in it, maybe that makes the mission incompleteable?

first off, THANK YOU SO MUCH! You're my hero.

I've played it a bit, and so far it's quite fun.
However, there are a few bugs you might want to take a look at if you have the time :D

Im not sure if they are related or not, but here goes>

I had the mission, conquer Europe, Australia and any other continent. At the time I conquered Europe and Australia, I also had 3 of the water continents under my domain, so I guess they don't count towards the mission criteria.

I then decided to give Africa a good whack, and once that too was under my domain, I expedted a win, but I was wrong, still no victory.

In the end, I won the game through a complete world domination, but it just said -- Game Over --, no mission win.

I only ever saw (mind you, I only played a few games so far), victories by player elimination.

I'm betting the devastated territory messes up your mission :)
I'll see if there's a (relatively) simple fix for it.

Also, the rule set should work with other maps, like the Mars map.

Hmmm... it downloaded fine for me! Did you try it again? If that doesn't work, maybe clearing the Web Start cache? (javaws -viewer)

It works fine now Harvey, didn't do anything other than have my laptop shut down during the night, guess that was all it needed :D.

I haven't tested the fixes yet, will get to it asap, but thanks in advance for the great work you put into this.

Played a few games and so far so good.

I can verify that devestated territories no longer makes it impossible to complete a mission.

What is the function of LandContinentsOnly? Does it exclude water/moon continents in the missions that uses "Any" continent (ex.: North America, Australia and Any).

If that is the case, then I think you should change the following default values:

LandContinentsOnly to false
TerritoriesWithTwoMission to 28
TerritoriesMission to 36

Also, can you change the default value of EndYear to -1 instead of 5, it makes more sense when doing secret missions hehe.

Thanks for checking it. You're right about LandContinentsOnly (I hope). If I make it default to false, maybe I should add an extra "any" to each of the "any" continent missions? It seems like otherwise the water colonies etc. make it too easy. The year thing makes sense :)

I had in my list a bug where if the "aliens devastate" a territory and you have nowhere to retreat, the territory isn't marked as neutral. It might be fixed...?

well, if you make it false and change the TerritoriesMission and TerritoriesWithTwoMission accordingly (see above), it should balance out nicely.

I'll see if I can check out the amoeba bug fix out for you, but I usually don't play that type.

ok i'll do it. Also, I think I'll change the default to make it distribute territories randomly for both kinds. The original Secret Mission rules had that bit in there.

I love the new changes.

Everything seems to be working great so far, an dnow the only change I make when starting a game is recycling the command cards hehe. Absolutely brilliant! :D

I'm pondering about the conquer continent missions, would like to figure out some more balanced options, taking into account the added continents. I was thinking of one that involves all water territories, or maybe a split between water and moon.

So many different options now. Before it was only 6 continents, which was very manageable, but now it's 14.

The only problem is that all the water and moon territories are empty to start with. So even if you had a mission like "Conquer Australia + the whole moon", it wouldn't be that hard. But... experiment all you like :)

Well, that's the fun thing in playing with friends, if they know missions like these exist, they'll be more watchful in regards to early game territory claiming (ie. not let one player place him/herself at all the water access points).

I agree though, that the moon is a bit awkward, as even with 8 players, you get enough units to launch into space and cover the moon in your first turn.

However if you mix it up a bit and say ex. North Atlantic (Water), South Atlantic (Water) Australia (Land) and Sajon (Lunar), that would put it up there with North America and Africa, territory wise.
